Scottish Executive Anti-Sectarian Slogan Competition Finalists

Pupils from schools across Scotland, who have taken a positive and creative approach to tackling sectarianism, were presented with awards by Justice Minister Cathy Jamieson on 20 February 2007.

The ten pupils were selected as finalists from over 1,300 entries in the Scottish Executive’s anti-sectarian slogan competition which invited young people between the ages of five and 22 to create a clear, concise and strong anti-sectarian message.

All finalists received a framed copy of their design, signed by the Justice Minister, a book token, and a bag of anti-sectarian items. The schools of all ten finalists each received 50 sports bibs featuring the slogans and a framed copy of their pupil’s entry.

Harry Hutton from Mearns Primary, Newton Mearns was the overall winner.
