We would like to welcome you to the Action on Sectarianism Website. Scotland has a proud history and a strong future.  It is a country which is fairer, more tolerant, and much safer to live and work in.

But Scotland continues to be blighted by the shame of sectarian attitudes and behaviour - bigotry, which can all too often lead to abuse, violence and even murder.  Sectarianism has no place on our streets, at our football grounds or in our workplaces. The Scottish Executive is committed to tackling sectarianism in Scotland.  Our task is to lead the drive forward to tackle this problem - but everyone has their part to play if we are to make Scotland a sectarian free zone.

The purpose of this site is to tell you about the work that the Scottish Executive is doing to tackle the problem across Scotland. Of course, sectarianism cannot be tackled by the Executive on its own and so you will find links to partner organisations, further resources and information on a whole range of areas ranging from education to sport, where sectarianism is being challenged. The site will be kept up to date with the latest news, upcoming events, key actions, messages, publications etc. We hope that you find it helpful.
