all faiths have a great deal in common and there are often more similarities than differences. More focus on commonly held beliefs would be positive.

The Scottish Executive recognises that churches, faith groups, charitable and voluntary organisations all have an important role to play in a modern multi-faith Scotland. Intra-Christian partnership working, encouraging dialogue and the building of links between communities are also key to tackling sectarianism.

A range of events, working groups and networks have been established to further anti-sectarian work among communities, young people and faith groups and open up dialogue between communities, local government and the Scottish Executive.
